Valentino SS1989 Floral Colorblock Pleated Chiffon Dress
This dress is richly layered in color and texture, with floral chiffon, a sculptural pleated waist, and a flowing skirt.
The bodice is cut with a soft V neckline framed by peach-toned trim. Short flutter sleeves add lightness, while built-in shoulder pads give the silhouette subtle structure. The waist is the focal point of the dress, constructed from layers of finely pleated chiffon in bold horizontal bands of purple, fuchsia, coral, and green. This color-blocked pleated waist panel wraps closely around the body like a soft cummerbund, contouring the waist and creating a sculptural contrast.
Below the waist, the dress releases into a gathered midi skirt in rich coral-red chiffon printed with black polka dots. The skirt falls with soft volume and movement, balancing the fitted waist with a playful, fluid finish.
